HICARE heat resistant safety hood
A safety hood protects the head, face, neck and shoulders from radiant heat, sparks and splash. It is worn with an aluminized jacket or apron at furnaces and casting lines, and by fire teams. HICARE makes three versions, each lined with woollen fabric and FR cotton.
Aluminized: aluminized outer with a visor, for industrial radiant heat. The standard choice.
Aluminized para aramid: imported aluminized para aramid outer, rated by the maker for radiant heat up to about 800°C and convection heat up to about 500°C. Lighter and longer lasting.
Aramid (Kevlar): 100% Kevlar para aramid outer with woollen felt and FR fabric layers, for contact heat, sparks and welding.
