HICARE heat resistant aprons
A heat resistant apron shields the chest, stomach and legs from radiant heat, sparks and molten splash while the arms stay free to work. HICARE makes it in three materials and two lengths, with adjustable straps at the back.
Which apron?
Alumaster Alueco: aluminized fiberglass with woollen felt inside. The economical aluminized apron for radiant heat.
Alumaster Aluprime: aluminized aramid outer with a woollen second layer. Lighter, tougher and longer lasting than fiberglass, for daily furnace work.
Kevlar (para aramid): 480 GSM para aramid with woollen lining, heat resistant up to about 800°C (maker’s rating). Best where there is contact heat, sparks and abrasion rather than strong radiant heat.
24 x 36 inch reaches the knee on most people; 24 x 48 inch reaches below the knee for pouring and furnace work. For more cover, choose a back open coat or an aluminized jacket.
