HICARE Flare Defend flame retardant coveralls (boiler suits) for refineries, gas plants, utilities and maintenance teams: 240 GSM FR cotton in five colours, or 180 GSM inherently flame resistant modacrylic blend.
HICARE Flare Defend flame retardant coverall
A flame retardant coverall is daily workwear for people who could be caught in a flash fire: oil and gas, refineries, petrochemical and fertiliser plants, power plants and maintenance crews. Unlike normal cotton or polyester, the fabric does not keep burning or melt onto the skin once the flame is gone. HICARE makes two fabrics.
FR cotton 240 GSM: 100% cotton treated to be flame retardant, with reflective tape. One-piece coverall or jacket and pant, in royal blue, navy blue, orange, khaki and red. Tell us the colour with your quote.
Modacrylic IFR 180 GSM: inherently flame resistant blend of 50% modacrylic, 38% cotton, 10% para aramid and 2% antistatic. Lighter and the protection does not wash out. Two-way metal zip, full sleeve cuffs with metal snaps and 1 inch FR silver reflective tape on shoulders, sleeves and legs.

FR cotton is treated, so follow the washing advice to keep it effective. IFR (inherently flame resistant) fabric keeps its protection for the life of the garment and is lighter.
Which colours are available?
FR cotton comes in royal blue, navy blue, orange, khaki and red. Tell us the colour and quantity in the quote.
Is a flame retardant coverall a firefighting suit?
No. It is workwear that limits burns from a flash fire. Firefighters need a fireman suit.
