A water gel blanket is a wool or fabric blanket soaked in a water based gel. Wrapped around a person, it smothers burning clothes, draws heat out of the skin to cool the burn, eases pain and protects the burn from airborne dirt. It is kept in a sealed canister so the gel stays wet and ready.
Where it is kept
Factories and plants with hot work or flammable liquids, refineries and gas stations, labs, kitchens, fire stations, ambulances and first aid rooms. Pick the size by how much of the body it must cover: 5 x 6 ft for the upper body, 5 x 8 or 6 x 8 ft to wrap an adult fully.
