Newage triple purpose branch pipe 63 mm: jet, spray and shut-off
The Newage triple purpose branch pipe 63 mm, also called a universal branch pipe, puts three jobs in one nozzle. The operator turns the control to choose a straight jet for reach, a fine spray to cover an area and cool the surroundings, or shut-off to stop water without running back to the valve. Its low back-thrust makes it easier to hold than many people expect, which is why it is replacing the plain short branch pipe in a lot of industries.
It belongs to our hose nozzles range in fire hydrant fittings, made by Newage.
When each setting helps
- Jet: hits a fire from a distance, or reaches upper floors and racks.
- Spray: spreads water over a wider area and forms a screen between the operator and the heat.
- Shut-off: stops water at once when moving the hose, saving water and reducing damage inside buildings.
Technical details
The inlet is a 2 1/2 inch (63 mm) male instantaneous connection, so it fits any standard hydrant hose. The maximum operating pressure is 10.5 kg/cm2 (150 psi). Bodies come in gunmetal (also offered chrome plated), stainless steel or aluminium alloy.
Choosing the material
Gunmetal matches older brass-look hydrant fittings. Stainless steel keeps its shine in humid plants and near the sea. Aluminium is the lightest of the three for long sessions in hand or for mobile kits.
Pairs well with
Connect it to a Newage fire hose pipe 63 mm x 15 m. If you only need a basic jet, the Newage short branch pipe is the simpler choice. For two nozzles off one hydrant, add a dividing breeching.
