SafePro water mist fire extinguisher for hospitals, offices and clean spaces
A water mist fire extinguisher breaks water into very fine droplets through a special nozzle. The tiny droplets soak up heat quickly and turn to steam, which cools the fire and thins the air around it. The SafePro water mist fire extinguisher uses de-mineralised water, so there is no powder to clean up afterwards and very little water left on the floor.
It is listed with our water type extinguishers in the fire extinguishers range by SafePro.
Fire classes listed by the manufacturer
The manufacturer lists this extinguisher for Class A (wood, paper, cloth), Class B (flammable liquids), Class C (flammable gases) and Class F (cooking oil) fires. That wide cover with plain water is the reason many hospitals and offices pick it instead of powder, which can be hard to clean from wards, theatres and files.
Why de-mineralised water?
Ordinary tap water carries dissolved salts. De-mineralised water has most of them removed, which keeps the nozzle clear and leaves fewer marks on surfaces. Always get the unit refilled with the right water, not tap water.
Good places for a water mist unit
- Hospitals, nursing homes, clinics and labs
- Offices, schools, libraries and record rooms
- Hotels, malls and cinema corridors
- Clean rooms and pharma or food packing areas
For an older-style plain water unit used only for Class A, see the SafePro water fire extinguisher. For rooms full of electronics, also look at the SafePro clean agent fire extinguisher.
