HICARE heat resistant back open coats
A back open coat is worn like an apron with sleeves: it covers the chest, arms and legs, and is held by adjustable straps at the back. That keeps the front of the body protected from radiant heat and splash while the back stays open and cooler. It is the common choice at furnace doors, ladles and casting lines. HICARE makes four versions.
Alumaster Alueco: aluminized outer with a woollen second layer, the economical option for radiant heat.
Alumaster Aluprime: aluminized aramid outer with woollen lining, lighter and longer lasting for daily furnace work.
Kevlar back open coat: 480 GSM para aramid with woollen lining, heat resistant up to about 800°C (maker’s rating), for contact heat and sparks.
Para aramid long coat: a full front closing coat in 480 GSM para aramid with woollen lining, for all-round cover.
