Open nozzles are used in deluge and water spray systems that drench a whole area at once: transformers, LPG storage, conveyors and openings between buildings. Armorfire makes:
Curtain spray nozzle, SS304 (15 or 20 mm, male threaded inlet): makes an approximately semi-circular water curtain that stops heat and smoke passing through an opening. K-factors (SI) 23, 30, 37, 45, 53 and 72.
Medium velocity water spray nozzle (15 mm, forged brass): sprays a cone of water onto equipment to cool it. K-factors (SI) 22 to 102; spray angles 60 to 120 degrees.
Water curtain nozzle, stainless steel: BSP male threaded, for water curtain lines; maker’s working range 1.5 to 10 kgf/cm2.

What is the difference between a sprinkler and a spray nozzle?
A sprinkler has a glass bulb and opens on its own in a fire. A spray or curtain nozzle is always open; water flows through all nozzles at once when the deluge valve opens.
