A high expansion foam generator uses a fan to blow air through a net wetted with foam solution, producing a huge volume of light foam. It can fill a basement, warehouse, cable gallery or hangar quickly, cutting off air to the fire and cooling it, in places where people cannot easily reach the fire with hoses.
